Our training objective is to bring out the best in every bird dog and to give them the advantage of continuous hours in the field, yard training, and exposure to birds. This is our only business and we do not participate in the field trial circuit. What this means is that you can be certain your dog is not traveling every weekend to field trials where it usually ends up either boxed up or on a stake out chain most of the time. Instead, that time is spent developing valuable skills that you paid for because we are here on the facility 7 days a week training your dog! We believe that it's critical for puppies to be exposed to birds as early and as often as possible. Therefore, part of our basic training program is to introduce the young dogs to lots of birds in a variety of terrain. These terrain include woods, creeks, open fields, and numerous ponds. Dogs that have already had this exposure can be WHOA trained using our WHOA table and progress into pinch collar work. With multiple repeated sessions, we believe the young dogs learn better from the repetitive lesson than they do from force. Our advanced training program is designed to give exposure to dogs that might otherwise take years to develop into a high-headed, high-tailed, classy gun dog, or amateur handled field trial dog. This advanced gun dog and Field Trial training will be done on native wild quail and pen released quail. Our 400 acre training facility allows us to load up dogs and move to many different hunting grounds that will simulate actual hunting. We will give you an honest evaluation of your dog and you can decide which is the best avenue for the training and development of your dog. Every now and then we have started or finished gun dogs available for sale. Check our puppies page for current availability. |
